Welcome to the

General Guidelines for attaining CPDP points

- As part of Continuing Professional Development, Architects will be required to participate in programmes as per structure / schedule outlined below.
- Minimum attainable score per year of evaluation is 80 Points.
- Mandatory CPD Points for annual renewal of the Architects’ Practice License shall be a minimum of 80 Points for all registered Architects.
- Additional and Bonus Points are attainable outside the normal set program and generally for high interest in NIA (Nigerian Institute of Architects) and ARCON (Architects Registration Council of Nigeria) Events, including travelling outside the Country for Programmes towards self-improvement as well as contributing to the growth of the Institute and the Global Community.

- The BRS Committee shall manage the overall CPDP Structure through a strategic platform on the Website with access to operators and the CPD beneficiaries for update.
- The BRS Committee shall be the Programme Manager in liaison with the related Committees of the Institute.

Approved programmes will be set up in form of Workshop/Seminar by the Education Board and Committees  in all fields relevant to the development of an Architect’s Professional Proficiency

The Institute’s activities require the contribution and participation of all Architects directly or indirectly

A special community development programme will be set up.  These programmes shall have positive impact on the lives of Communities.

¨      Visiting Lecturer in Tertiary Institutions (10-20 hrs per semester ex gratis)

¨      Making Architectural Practice available to Students for SIWES

¨      Campaign to Promote status of Architects to the Community

¨      Research on specific community programme(s)

¨      Development Programme to specific Community (working hand in hand with community e.g. Slum Eradication, Climate Control, General Awareness Programmes, etc.)

¨      Etc.

A member who attains this level of CPD points shall be eligible for nomination subject to fulfilling other mandatory requirements. Honorary Fellowship for non-members at the discretion of the Council.

This Award is for outstanding service to the Profession and the Institute.  Honorary Gold Award  at the discretion of the Council

This shall be by nomination and approval by the Council.

DISTINGUISHED PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECT’S Award

A successful career in the Practice of Architecture, Service to the Institute and the Community.

This shall be by attainment and approval by the Council. Nomination and award shall be celebrated by the Institute.
